SIX GEMS OF INTEREST

Presenting you my 6 recent finds from around the internets which cover fashion, music, film, even science. #AccidentallyDiverse. Oh, and a shameless amount of ineligible hashtags. Hopefully this late night post will bring your pre-Monday blues to a minimum.

NUMBER ONE

Them W. Anderson aesthetics! Jon and Jess made such a visually pleasing save-the-date, makes me wonder what their big day will look like. Also makes me want to wipe the dust off my tripod and make something Wes-Anderson inspired. Just you wait, babes.

NUMBER TWO

This is all no news for yours truly, except for a new way of rolling up my pants. But it's definitely a good started guide to all of you who seek that effortlessly chic yet strong look. You're welcome!

NUMBER THREE

Remember all those boring and most of the time #DumbAf patients that doctor House had to cover alongside 'the main case of the episode'? Yeah, these are worse.
(I want to rewatch House MD now.)

NUMBER FOUR

I've always had this inexplicable appreciation for Leighton for staying under the radar which lets me rediscover her talent over and over again on a regular basis. I've been spinning her album Heartstrings on repeat for a few days now!

NUMBER FIVE

WHAT. A. TRIP. These might have just become my most favorite photographs. How come it's the first time I'm seeing these pictures?? I, for one, would easily consider them a quintessential part of periodic fashion photography. Not only there are some of the raddest outfits, but also it's photographed really well.

NUMBER SIX

FEBRUARY FAVORITES + VIDEO

As you may have noticed, I update my youtube channel only once in five lifetimes.. and today's the day! I've been filming some snippets of my monthly favorites throughout the past week. And since I'm not very vocal in my videos, I decided to do a joint favorites including a blog post as well! You can watch the video here (Shhh  I will be mentioning some of my other favorites herein the blog post as well..)

Beauty: Sally Hansen and Seche Vite

This duo has been on my nails throughout the whole month of February! Of course, I've been repainting once a week, but just out of habit really. Because it doesn't chip! The quality of Sally Hansen nail polishes is by far the best I've come across and a coat of Seche Vite just seals the whole thing so good. The latter deserves all the praise and hype by the way.

Colab Volumizing Dry Shampoo

Out of all the things my hair needs, volume is at the very top of the 'most wanted' list. This dry shampoo has been life changing this past month. I won't rave about it in this post as I have already done it in here.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Please tell me what on earth did take me this long to finally buy this wonder of a concealer?! It's the most amazing gem for under eyes as it doesn't crease! It has a very decent coverage, just enough for my personal liking. The color match is almost perfect as well; although Rimmel stuff is always kind of the yellowish side.. Anyways, I have found my holy gray concealer for my under eyes; if you haven't - you need this in your life!

Drink: Twinnings Liquorice Earl Grey

Tea in general is very dear to me and this one has truly been a highlight of the month! Twinings never fails to surprise me. I highly recommend this to all of my fellow tea aficionados. However, this may not be for everyone as my friend absolutely hates it! I wouldn't say to stay away from this one if you don't like liquorice (I personally adore it) because you can barely pick up on it while drinking! It's just a bit of a fancier earl grey.

Book: Gone Girl

I'm so late on this, I knowwww.. I just wish I hadn't seen the movie before reading the book, because I'd be screaming at all the plot twists. I haven't finished it yet, but when I do, I'll go straight to the other books by Gillian Flynn before there are more movies made..

TV, Film and Music

The weird thing is, there weren't any standouts in this category this past month.. Just a few great things, but nothing worth a standing applause. I've been binge-rewatching Community because they finally put it up on Netflix, definitely one of my top faves of all time. If you enjoy fun sitcoms - do check it out. Better Call Saul aired. It's been great, I'm almost certain I'm enjoying it just as much as  Breaking Bad, so that should say a lot because I frickin loved the latter. Also, How To Get Away With Murder has come back and I was freaking out over all the twists and turns. Ah, what a great series!!

I haven't been watching much films throughout February, I thought wasn't going to put any in this post.. Until I remembered that those few movies were oscar nominees. Therefore I want to mention Nightcrawler which stunned me in every way possible. From the unusual setting (LA suburbs at nighttime) to the impeccable characterization which was performed by the oh-so-underrated Jake Gyllenhaal. HE WAS SO GOOD YOU GUYS.

Music of the month has been a few tracks being played on repeat. New releases by the Milky Chance, also Matt & Kim. And a few songs that were shazamed during the rolling credits of the TV series Girls. Here have a listen:

Fashun: H&M jumper

I'm just gonna put it out there - I live in this jumper. It's the comfiest thing in my closet and I don't want to wear anything else. ever. The sad days are when I have to do laundry and live without this for a day. However, the saddest and the most tragic day was in mid-February when I spilled nail polish on it. So of course I don't wear it in public anymore, but I shamelessly continue to live in it at home. I'm trying to hunt down this exact jumper on H&M again, but the hunt is not going down that well...

This is it for my February favorites, don't forget to watch the video (and celebrate the fact that I uploaded) if you haven't already. Also, tell me what you think of this joint thing! See you in my next blog post!

JANUARY FAVORITES

This might seem like a very random selection of things; that's because I have a bit of everything: makeup, skincare, accessories... As you can see, this isn't much, but I have more favorites in music, film, etc at the second half of this post. Don't know about you, but I'm always interested in people's non-beauty favorites. I have quite a few this month!

MAKEUP FAVORITES
Both of my makeup favorites are lip products. Which makes sense as they're that part of my makeup I change/buy the most, whilst base products stay pretty much the same. MAC 'Velvet Teddy' lipstick and Essence pencil in 'Satin Mauve' have been on my lips this whole past month. I didn't wear anything else! Most of the time, I mix them together for the most perfect mauvey-taupe shade. The swatches I attempted in the photo are not very accurate, especially the Essence one. It's more of a dusty, muted mauve (not as vibrant as in the picture). See swatches here instead; trust me, you need this lip liner in your life.

ACCESSORY OF THE MONTH
Of course, it's my dearest one from The Fifth Watches. It seems to appear in every single blog post of mine and every other instagram photo. So it should be pretty obvious how much I love it. A LOT. If you're thinking of getting one yourself, chop chop! Because the sales of The Fifth launch on the 5th of every month and run for only five days. So it's started today!

SKINCARE FAVORITES
2015 is all about clearing my skin off acne. Well, it's about a lot of things, but following a proper skincare routine is one of my main goals this year. Therefore, I've been buying quite a bit of skincare products since November or so. I must say, most of them turned out to be my favorites; although I'll feature only two of them as I feel they've stood out throughout the month of January.

One of them is a Tea Tree Oil from The Body Shop. It works wonders in you want to dry out and get rid of a break-out. It has anti-bacterial properties, but it's definitely too concentrated to slather all over your face. I came up with a solution though. I went all chemistry on this. Well, I simply mixed it with water. It certainly feels like it's removing all the bacteria and dirt and gunk off my face. I use it after removing my makeup - it removes every last bit of makeup residue if there is any! Sometimes I use it it the morning right after I get out of bed before I even wash my face.

Next up - probably my favorite thing of this past month in general. I present you the Spin For Perfect Skin. This has definitely improved the condition of my skin. Even though I'm still dealing with blemishes, this brush has helped me remove like one third of them. It seems as if it got rid of these small annoying spots and left me with a few bigger ones to deal with. No, it did not cause those blemishes, they've always been on my face. God I hope I'm making sense here! Basically it does a very good job at clearing and cleansing my skin. One more awesome thing - it cost me 30 bucks (+shipping costs)! I used  a 70% off code S4Spin, I hope it's still valid!!

MUSIC OF THE MONTH
I've been listening to Begin Again soundtrack NON STOP. I've never heard Keira Knightley sing and now that I have, it's my new favorite voice to listen to. It's so beautiful. Here, listen to her:

MOVIE OF THE MONTH
It's Whiplash, hands down. I don't even know where to begin with this movie. It's a masterpiece in my eyes. Both JK Simmons and Miles Teller performed impeccably, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, I may have developed a bit of a crush on Miles Teller. It's been ages since I had a celebrity crush, I feel like a 12 year old now. In all seriousness though, he's a great actor and I'm just gonna go ahead and watch every single thing he's starred in. I already watched Two Night Stand which was surprisingly really good and so cute, gaahhh. Next stop: The Spectacular Now.

YOUTUBERS!
I'm on youtube every single day, it's easily one my favorite things to watch in my spare time. So I thought I'd feature some youtubers in this post just as well. Nathan from TheThirdPew has some seriously amazing content on his channel. He's only 17, still in high school and yet he's literally the most clever person I've seen. He is not your I-make-a-living-off-chubby-bunny-challenges vlogger, those make me vomit. His content is so relatable and entertaining and you need to subscribe.

In terms of beauty vloggers, I recommend Stephanie whom I've discovered last month by coming across a skincare routine video for acne prone skin. Her recommendations work wonders on my skin. I must have found someone who's dealing with the exact same issues, therefore I really like her acne video series. She also does a lot of makeup tutorials which target hooded eyelids; it's very in-depth and helpful!

HOW TO: SUNDAY

Sundays are miserable. Unless you're on holiday, like yours truly. But otherwise, Sundays are miserable. Therefore, I am bringing you a very cliché solution: relax and indulge. I want to share some of this week's discoveries of mine which might just brighten your remaining evening of Sunday.

Dance and cinematography aficionados (I belong to the latter) may have seen the ultimate Paris fantasy which goes by the name of Haut Vol in which a perfect pas de deux runs over the city's rooftops. If you have a minute and a half to spare, do watch this rather too short for one's artistic cravings yet undoubtedly breathtaking ballet across the rooftops of Paris video

If you've already got your hands on February's Elle UK issue, you'll have seen a Jean-Paul Goude's editorial Showtime which depicts a frenetic backstage of a fashion show. In my opinion, this ambitious photo shoot is truly a highlight of this issue. And that should say a lot, because the magazine also has a Rosie HW spread in it. I put this under the Read category, but it's not the Elle article I want to share. I found Taylor's blog post much more interesting! She'll take you on a tour of fashion show backstage so you'll get the taste of how frantic yet exciting things are behind the curtain.

Gabrielė is not this week's discovery, but lately I've been really enjoying the updates on her Instagram profile. She's one of those very few people whose selfies I don't mind in the slightest whilst scrolling through the app. And I have her blog in the bookmarks' dock on my browser; so the blog's a pretty big deal too! If this is the first you're hearing about Gabrielė, stalk away. You'll love this girl!

And at last, but certainly not the least, brownies. I definitely stepped up my brownie game this week when I finally decided to look up how to make these fudgy ones. Don't get me wrong, my brownies weren't bad. But they always turned out quite dry when all I wanted was rich and chocolatey and almost wet and doughy inside. Laura's recipe rocks my world now. She uses the same ingredients as me, the method however is a bit defferent and it makes all the change. Now I'm just stopping myself from baking these every other day.

a few of my favorite things: autumn edition

Hiya queens! Guess who's been diagnosed with a severe case of Autumn craze? Moi and another five millions of basic bitches! If you consider yourself within the same species, you might as well continue on reading; I'm sharing a few random favorites of this orange season.

Maybelline Color Sensational lip liner in "Velvet Beige"

I don't think I've ever had a makeup item that I'd use this much! I've been literally wearing it every single day for the past 2-3 weeks. I don't even top it with lipstick as I find its own color is just about perfect for me. Defining and filling my lips using this lip liner has found its way into my daily makeup routine so easily and I've got no intention of changing it anytime soon. I'll be filming my everyday Fall makeup so you'll see me applying this in a video soon!

Victoria's Secret "Vanilla Lace" fragrance mist

So basically the scent of vanilla is everything to me. I prefer it over all the other autumnal smells like cinnamon or apples or whatever. And I'm really loving this spray these days! It might seem a bit 'sickly sweet' for some people, but I find it just right for the colder seasons. Just like I don't leave home without the mentioned lip liner, I also don't step anywhere outside without my Vanilla Lace.

Yankee Candle in "Salted Caramel"

The last bit, but certainly not the the least is another heavenly scented thing. I love it so much I basically want to eat this candle. Again, the smell is really sweet, so the whole 'salted' thing is kind of misleading, but I really don't mind. Next up - I want to get the "Christmas Cookie" for holiday season; I flail every time I smell it at the store.

Keepin' Autumn Chills at Bay (OOTD + VIDEO)

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

"It was final, explosive demonstration of Summer, the line in the sand, a desperate attempt to hold Fall forever at bay." - Lauren Oliver, "Panic", one of the best books I've read this Summer. The author couldn't have said it better, it describes yesterday most accurately. Since I live half an hour of bus ride from the seaside, me and my friend spent our Friday there. We visited both Margate and Broadstairs.

T-SHIRT - KCLOTH | SKIRT - PRIMARK | SANDALS - DEICHMANN | WATCH - KLAUS KOBEC | EARRINGS - PRIMARK

To keep the Autumn chills at bay I wore a long jersey skirt which I find to be a great transitional piece and will be perfect for early Autumn as well. To avoid looking too dressed-up I paired it with my beloved Barbie tee and sandals. I couldn't have chosen a better and more comfortable outfit for a seaside trip and walks around the town.

The pictures were taken in Margate as we found the town is simply better looking than Broadstairs. But the latter has a much more beautiful beach, so I decided to film a few snippets and share them with you.

A Beachy Update (+VIDEOS)

Sunday, August 31st, the last day of Summer. 2014

hello mon cher reader! It's so nice to be writing a blog post after what seems like a forever of no updates. It really has been quite some time, actually. A month, to be exact, since my last appearance on this blogosphere. Moving into UK has snatched all the time off me, but I'm finally settled in (well, almost), so there's just no reason to ditch my blog!

I thought I'd see off the season of Summer by sharing my seaside photos (and videos) from a lovely trip a month ago. Aah, I miss the sea and heat so much!

Packing ceremonies! I could just rave on and on about this Evian facial mist spray, definitely one of my favorites this Summer. I wish I had to live in a warmer climate so I could use it again.

Barefoot crochet sandals have been on my mind since I first discovered them on Pinterest sometime in the beginning of July. I just had to have them. Seriously one of the most beautiful handmade things ever. I even let myself daydream away and I fantasized about walking down the isle in these. Teeny tiny secret I never got a chance to mention is that I've been  dreaming of a beach wedding as long as I remember myself. Sorry, this is so off-topic. What do you think though? These beauties I'm wearing are from the Elvish Things

JUMPSUIT - REVERSE | BAG - NICA

BIKINI - TRIANGL

BARBIE T-SHIRT - KCLOTH

Don't forget to have a look at 2 videos I put together from this seaside trip!

I hope you all had an unforgettable Summer, I sure did! Look out for a British update now as I have lots to tell you about my big move.

Au revoir l'été, bonjour l'automne.
