OOTD: Winter Outwear, Festive Touch

23 / 12 / 2014

WINTER OUTWEAR, FESTIVE TOUCH

Surprisingly, this English winter has graced us with quite warm days and absolutely rain-free skies. It's just that I'm used to insanely cold winters where the last thing I care about is fashion. So it's kind of a big deal for me to break out with  high heels and sunglasses on a daily basis. Thus, anything that makes my heart flutter deserves a blog post!

Normally I wouldn't bother, but for some reason I wanted to brighten up my outwear for the festive season so I chose a bright scarf. Which has also become an excuse to go to Starbucks so I'd get all matchy-matchy with my drink and scarf. Which brings us to another excuse for a cup of starbs. I lost my gloves and a girl gotta keep her hands warm! Why not wrap my fingers around a hot choc then? I'm definitely a little bit obsessed with a festive menu, my favorite drink has got to be the Honey and Almond Hot Chocolate. Please tell me yours in the comments!

H&M COAT  SHEINSIDE SCARF  SLEEH SHOES  FREYRS SUNNIES  KLAUS KOBEC WATCH  PRIMARK SKINNIES

I'm keeping it basic and normcore beneath my lovely coat by wearing a pair of simple skinnies and a crewneck. The latter is literally the comfiest and snuggliest thing I own and yet it's a flexible piece to style anyway you want. I'm loving the combo with gold!

LA VIE EN ROSE and knit

This is my favorite combo in my wardrobe right now, I wore this to school a couple of times already. I paired my beloved circle skirt (from House) with a vintage-y patterned jumper (ebay). Merely a result of outfits planning I do the night before school.

Très FALLtastic: Outdoors Look (+video)

W E D N E S D A Y ,  S E P T E M B E R  2 5

Welcome back to the Autumn blogging! This time I'm sharing this outdoors look of mine that I've practically been wearing all this past month. I camouflage with neutrals on the outside, but I still stay true to myself and reveal all the colors and pastels once I take off my coat.

From head to toes:

hat - Seppälä
scarf - Tally Weijl
trench coat - H&M, but thrifted
frilly socks - ebay
wedges - Cropp Town

On a very unrelated note, I'm wrapping this post up with a flashback to Summer. I know, that's so season-inappropriate! But I couldn't let all of my Greece holiday footage be left to dust throughout the winter. I've only managed to put up the video just recently though. So here are some bits of my family trip to Kos, the island of Greece

I don't know how to put a bigger youtube screen on a blog post, so you watch on youtube instead: here.

OOTD: Sometime Last Week

OOTD: SOMETIME LAST WEEK

Hello dear reader! I'm sharing one of the many Autumn outfits I've worn already. I don't have any browns or oranges or burgundy in my Autumn wardrobe, I'm still sticking to my happy colors as I always have been and will be!

Everything you see here is thrifted except for socks which are from Seppala, oxfords from a local shoe store and a hairbow which is a handiwork of mine.

DDOF Daily Dose Of French

daily dose of french
I got into a bit of a habit of watching one french movie a day, calling it my daily dose of french (how thoughtful). Yesterday I didn't got around watching a movie though as I attended even better. An evening spent outside of a historical villa listening to french music performed by Chris Ruebens ensemble. Well known french songs such as "Je Ne Veux Pas Travailler", "Aux Champs Elysées" and many more. I was overly excited when the latter started playing, because I had to learn the chorus of the song by heart last school year for the french class.

And here's what I wore! The whole outfit is thrifted (I swear I seem to live on thrifting, sales and other bargains only) except for wedges which are from a local shoe store, socks from Seppala and the bag from vj-style.com

Go listen to Chris Ruebens here.
Don't forget that you're tagged to do this. Yes, YOU!
And check out my most recent nail art tutorial

OOTD // NOTD

JULY 16TH
a fashun post

I never seem to share my outfits on the day I actually wear it, ugh! We went to see Despicable Me part deuce yesterday and here are ze rags.

Excuse my poor variety of outfits, I do love this button down a lot. so I often put it on. And I'm so very satisfied with this victorious partnership of washed out denim and bright watermelony pink. I scored two pairs of jeggings last week at the thrift store, this is one of them. Even though I hate wearing jeans, these are made of such thin denim.. they're the comfiest. These shoes (from Seppala) are another comfy thangs of the outfit, I don't even want to take them off when I come back home!
Other stuff: bag, watch, necklace.

Nails! This is what I have on my nails this week, a very simple design yet I love it. I simply played with tape and stickers, it's nothing that special although I wish I have taken pictures for a tutorial. There are some awesome things you can do with sticky stuff. Will do that next time! Aaaaaand I have a next nailart tutorial planned already, another summery design of bright colors. Check out my very recent one of Summer Sunset nails, here.

have a lovely week everyone.

What We Made and What I Wore

Yesterday, 1st of July, me and a couple of friends totally succeeded in baking a cake, a belated birthday gift. A simple combination of yummiest ingredients on earth and a recipe out of our heads. I may put together a recipe and share it sometime!

Here's yesterday's unusually plain outfit I wore. Much more summery-colorful looks are coming soon as I'm really not the one who sticks to simple throughout summertime. But I had to stay comfy yesterday!

I will be back with decent blog posts soon I guess. I have makeup to rave about, so a much more text including posts such as reviews are on their way.

OUTFIT POST or What I Wore The Last Time I Was Dragged Out Of The House

O U T F I T  P O S T
OR WHAT I WORE THE LAST TIME I WAS DRAGGED OUT OF THE HOUSE

I gotta admit I've reached a whole new level of laziness throughout this first month of Summer. Although, I do love to make myself look decent for going out, makeup and clothes are beyond exciting. I've gone out only a few times this month yet captured only one of them.

I wore this summery piece of loose top from New Yorker and thrifted high-waisted shorts with a bow in the front which totally disappeared in a photo. My wedges are from a local shoe store, beloved bag from vj-style  and a rose gold watch from ebay.

It's been forever since I posted such a close-up of me on the internet, ouch

The Rags Of Past Week

S U N D A Y ,  M A Y  1 2

THE RAGS OF PAST WEEK.

I'll be sharing two looks I liked on me the best. I even think these look nicely in one post since they're both quite different. One has more of a sophisticated look and the other is much more fun and casual. Although, in my terms, there's a very fine line between sophisticated and casual..or there's no line at all. Lets have a look then.

first

navy blue peplum top, thrifted
pale pink blazer, House
peachy pink jeans, Reserved
wedges, local shoe store

I sadly had to return perfect pink pair of wedges before these. With an aching heart I went through a very exhausting and unsuccessful hunt for another pair. This is what I managed to find. I really like the way toes are lifted up in these.

second

chiffon button down, Asos, but via ebay
dungarees, thrifted
socks, ebay
sneakers, local store
sunnies, ebay

The highlight of the week was wearing my dungarees, that was really fun. Not even sure how wearing a certain piece of clothing can be fun, but that's the only word to describe the feeling!

That would probably be it, sorry for such a short update. This was supposed to go up yesterday, but I was feeling rather down and couldn't come up with anything to write here. But I see that today is no better. I really don't know what's gotten into me. This past week was nice and all, but as the weekend came everything turned upside down and I can't even squeeze a smile. I guess a lot of unsorted stuff has piled up in my head and I have to take care of that asap.

I hope you're all fine.

A Week In Outfits

S A T U R D A Y ,  A P R I L  2 0

A WEEK IN OUTFITS

Spring's here, no more whining. I can wear my pastels and dress all light and nice not feeling guilty whatsoever 'cause Spring has hit us not with a fizzle but with a bang! Snow's gone, so are my down moods.

Dressing up is one of favorite things to do so I've been capturing my outfits every day this week. You might have noticed this if you're following me on Instagram, I'm an insta-junkie so I will never miss a chance to post a picture there.
...

Pink sweater, ebay
Pastel purple jeans, 2nd hands
Rose gold watch, ebay

Oh! And my feet's finally back in my beloved wedges (local shoe store). This makes me so happy, you don't understand. I was stuck in my hideous winter boots for what it seemed like three thousand years. It's like I have my life back together when I'm wearing shoes I love. Speaking of, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” - Marilyn Monroe.

So these are the shoes I was wearing in every outfit you'll see in this post. Let's move on.

T U E S D A Y  ·  A P R I L  1 6
After wearing jeans on Monday, I decided to go through this week wearing comfier clothes than that. The majority of jeans I own are tight and I'm in discomfort most of the time. Whereas dresses are the complete opposite. I own only a few of them and this one I wore on Tuesday must be my favorite. It's H&M, but it's thrifted, oh so much love for such finds! (I of course wore tights with this and a cardigan, it's not that warm you know)

W E D N E S D A Y  ·  A P R I L  1 7
Pink cashmere sweater, mom's wardrobe haha
Pastel mint tank top, Reserved
High waisted shorts, Stradivarius
Heart shaped necklace, ebay

Yes, dresses are comfy, but The Most Comfortable piece of clothing award goes to high waisted shorts. I practically live in those.

T H U R S D A Y
A P R I L  1 8

Pink cardigan, who the hell knows where's it from, every other store has it
Denim button down, Seppalla
High waisted shorts, Stradivarius
Pink bowtie, ebay
Bright mint belt, Reserved

My favorite outfit of the week! Obviously because it includes a bowtie, also I really need to purchase some more. With pretty patterns this time.

F R I D A Y  ·  A P R I L  1 9
Pastel mint cardigan, Reserved
Chiffon button down, Asos, but via ebay
Black high waisted shorts (with a bow in the front!), 2nd hands
Rose gold watch, ebay

Really love these petals' detail on one side of the cardigan, screams Spring, doesn't it? So this was fun, capturing my outfits everyday. When school seems insufferable, I feel good because of my fun rags, as I said, I really do love dressing up. Now that the Spring has come, I still wouldn't call this week an explosion of pastels or anything, even though I adore them. But each and every outfit has some pastels thrown in as you can tell. I could never leave home without a pop of color!
...

I will hopefully continue on taking pictures of my outfits in the future. So you should expect such posts coming. I also have planned a nail art tutorial this week, who's excited?!! In the meantime, you should check out the latest and my very first nail art tutorial: Florals & Pastels.

Bottomless Look Of The Day

T U E S D A Y ,  M A R C H  5

BOTTOMLESS LOOK OF THE DAY

I forgot my pants today

and that's that.

M O N D A Y ,  J A N U A R Y  2 8

My weekly Mani Monday: dripping pink. I guess this is my favorite design that's been on my nails so far. What do you think? It's also super easy to do yourself, google/youtube it for tutorials.

My Monday in general hasn't been as pink as it seems. It might seem, judging by my pink rags. In fact I survived the biggest Monday blues today. There are only very few people I enjoy being with at school and I meet none of them on Mondays. So the school was quite a hell that I managed to through today.

Well I am finally home and ready enjoy anything not school related. Hope you all had a better day than me cause mine actually sucked to be honest.

So yeah, have a good week everyone (me including. I hope my week won't suck that much)
