DIY: MEMO BOARD

When I realized how bare and plain my bedroom walls are I fixed upon a splash of color, it being pink of course.  And a memo board was one of the things I had wanted for  a really long time.  So yeah, a Do It Yourself happened, or in my case, Do It Yourself With An Assistance Of Your Dad.

Now I'm deeply sorry I haven't captured the whole process to make a decent step by step post, but those are coming the future, I promise!

It takes only a few supplies and minimal time!

- board

- polyester batting, as much as your board requires to cover it all

- fabric of your choice, the same amount as the latter

- ribbon (I think I used up about 7-8 m / 23-24 ft)

- stapler and scissors

1.  Cover the board with batting, using a stapler to attach it on the other side. You will be using a stapler only on the back of the board, no need to pin anything on the front!

2. Do the same with the fabric now. Of course, don't let it hang loose on a board, as you can see it has to be tight.

3. Now take the ribbon. Do not cut it in same length pieces before hand! First you have to make an X on a board. Drag the ribbon from one corner to the opposite one, clipping each end of the ribbon to the back of the board. Do the same with the other two corners and you have an X. Continue to work with the ribbon, till you have an equal squares on the board.

And that will be it, now hang the board on a wall!

Mine already has some things tucked under the ribbons, little drawings, notes and stuff. But it still has a lot of bare space to fill up! I'm planning on putting some inspirational pictures or quotes also some personal stuff like photos.

I hope my instructions were clear and you will be able to do it yourself. There's also a lot of videos on youtube explaining and showing the process, so if you're really planning to make this, you can go over there for more explicit details.

GOOD LUCK,
JULIA

I really need something like this (only maybe less pink) because I can be so forgetful sometimes.
